Althèa is a summery flower known for its healing properties, used throughout antiquity to early modernity. A leafy plant that can always be found beside a stinging nettle. Following the name's mythological origins leads us to the queen consort of Calydon, a city often sung in the Homeric epics. Famous Ancient Greek historians and geographers describe the city as "lovely" (and how could it not be, nesting as it was, on the banks of the river Evenus).

Which brings us to our top-floor apartment, a small world on its own. In Althèa you can choose how isolated from the rest of the world you wish to be.

My spouse and I are very fond of this particular room, often alluding to it as the room with the superior view, am uninterrupted vista of the Cretan Sea, as enjoyed directly from the balcony and the room's private pool. (It helps a lot that the name Althèa is evocative of the Greek word for "view" which happens to be "thea".

When opening the door to our lofty apartment, you will find a closet for your clothes, that also houses extra pillows, sheets, covers, bathrobes, a safe box for your documents and valuables, and extra towels for pool and shower.

On your right hand you will find the bathroom, featuring clean-cut anthracite grey facilities, a glass shower cabin for you to enjoy, toiletries, towels, a hairdryer, and a front-loading washing machine for you to wash your clothes whenever you wish.

Stepping onto the main room, which we can call the living room of the apartment, you will find on your right hand our rustic signature kitchen in the corner. Ivory and light blue appliances, light blue cabinets and wooden countertops paired with a stunning and yet down-to-earth backdrop to all these, the red-brick tiles of the kitchen backsplash.

Our Greek village grandmothers would have honestly been perfectly at ease using this kitchen, while modern-day guests will find that each appliance is utterly fashionable and easy to use.The Althèa kitchen offers a microwave/grill oven, panini sandwich maker, toaster, electric kettle, filter coffee maker, blender/chopper, utensils and cooking utensils. Pots and pans in white, that can be used on the stove, the oven and even directly from the freezer. A dishwasher to help you clean up after cooking or experimenting at cooking!

Passing the kitchen, you will find a small dining area along with a white 42'' white smart TV and before stepping out on the private pool area, don't forget to check out our Karup design futon mattresses, both on the day bed /sofa and the bed...but wait...where is the bed in Althèa?

Right on a separate space that you will find on top of the iron-wooden industrial staircase.

A simple, airy room, that provides isolation while at the same time offering a view of the living area below, through its glass panel balcony...thus, Althèa has a great view, whether you are in or outside!
